2018 XC - CIF-ss FINALS - 03 (Division 1 Girls)

This is the Division 1 (D1) Girls race from the 2018 CIF-SS (Southern Section) Cross Country Finals on November 17, 2018 at the Riverside Cross Country Course. The course is 3 miles. The meet crowns the Division title winners (both team and individual) and determines the qualifiers headed to the CIF State meet.

Commentary: The State Champ takes the Southern Section Championship, as well. Gaitan's best time on this course in 3 CIF races. Still has another year left. But, she will lose a critical running mate in Cortes. Nice battle for second with Arriaga holding off a strong challenge from Cortes. Impressive running family - those Arriagas. Great Oak and Vista Murrieta know each other very well. They are Southwestern League rivals. Just 4 points will separate them at State but it is GO who will repeat as State Champs. Southern Section teams will go 1-2-4-7-8-9 at State.
