Kalamkari is a type of hand-painted or block-printed cotton textile produced in Isfahan, Iran, and in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Only natural dyes are used in Kalamkari, which involves twenty-three steps.

Pitchuka Veera Subbaiah, Son Of Pitchuka Vullakki, began his working life as a clerk in a handloom business. He Started Kalamkari Artwork In 1970s at Pedana, Which Is now An Important Occupation Along the Weaving And Agriculture sector . Kalamkari Has Become An Important Livelihood For Many locals of Pedana. And now, the third generation of the family , Pitchuka Veera Naga Varun Kumar, continues his grandfather's art and legacy inspite of having a BTech Degree. The Father and Son Have Succeeded In Moving This Art Forward By Printing "Tree Of Life" With 212 Blocks, As This Is The First Of Its Kind In Block Printing.
