Maat - The Wise Goddess of Truth and Justice - Egyptian Mythology

Maat or Maʽat is the goddess of truth, justice, and harmony in Egyptian mythology. She is often depicted as a woman wearing an ostrich feather on her head. The Egyptians believed that Maat kept the universe in balance. Everyone was expected to live according to Maat's principles, doing good, being fair, and honest. In the judgment of souls, people's hearts were weighed against Maat's feather, and only those whose hearts were as light as the feather could go to paradise.
