Hamas, represented by Political Bureau member Bassem Naim in Doha, has expressed willingness to freeze its weapons arsenal under international supervision, tied to a credible path toward Palestinian statehood and a long-term truce of 5-10 years. The group accuses Israel of failing to fulfill obligations, such as ceasing attacks in eastern Gaza, while offering to welcome UN monitors along borders—but not inside Palestinian territory, to enforce the ceasefire and prevent escalations. With trust eroding and strikes persisting, the script underscores that only intense Western pressure, particularly from Washington, can prevent the truce from collapsing into renewed conflict.
