The POV character is a young person applying to work as a groundskeeper at a luxurious mansion, and the speaker character is the extremely wealthy owner of the estate. She seems very eager to have them on board, but they decline her offer when they learn it’s actually a live-in position. She manages to covertly hypnotize them to change their mind. Once they’re under, she reveals that most of her attendants are actually her hypnotized thralls. They try to resist her, but she uses her eyes and her years of experience with hypnotism to seal the deal.
