RYKER: Twisted Sisters - Day 2 // Kerrville Loop and Hwy 16

Описание к видео RYKER: Twisted Sisters - Day 2 // Kerrville Loop and Hwy 16

Today is Monday, July 6, 2020. Nick ( @fattywithafirearm ) and I are headed out to begin riding the Texas Hill Country area and to explore the Twisted Sisters loops. Skip to the end of the description for clickable time indexes.

We moto-camped in the Lost Maples State Natural Area last night overlooking the hills and tranquil valley near the Sabinal River. It was really hot and a bit humid last night, but we slept OK after many beers... a little alcohol tranquilizer works wonders. 🤣

We started out with hopes of visiting the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum, but it was closed. So, we turned north and rode the loop around to the northeast toward Kerrville and then returned to Vanderpool later in the day via Hwy 16 and 337. We rode about 140 miles today in the heat... and it was really HOT. Who decided to do this trip in July, anyway?!

We saw lots of wildlife on the road, and we even saw more Ibex and a Zebra in one of the exotic animal ranches in the area. It's very important to keep your eyes open for unfenced wildlife in the Hill Country, and nighttime riding here can be downright dangerous.

We rode for about 7 hours today and decided to turn in early because of the heat. The sun was hiding behind the clouds for most of the day, but the overcast skies cleared around 5:00pm and it got REALLY HOT, REALLY QUICK! The air temperature was well over 100°F and the heat index was over 115°F... ouch! So, we stopped at the only convenience store nearby to pick up 20 pounds of ice and a couple cases of beer.

We sat around for several hours talking, drinking, and sweating in the Texas heat before passing out around 11:00pm We'll resume with Day #3 of our trip next time riding the actual Twisted Sisters loop on FM 335, 336, and 337.

Cheers! 😉👍
