Watercolor FUN and simple transparent flowers

In this video, I am sharing my technique for transparent flowers, I found my painting several years ago and thought it would be wonderful to revisit. I am also sharing my thoughts as Im painting around composition, why I am placing elements in different places around my painting.

The elements I naturally use
1) focus point (flower in the middle is most prominent, and the black center draws your eye in)
2) "S" curve or cascade Used the leaves to create an "S" curve for creating movement
3) Values I used in the leaves to draw the eye through the painting so it doesn't get stuck in one area
4) I used complimentary color (opposite on the color wheel) to create some contrast yet placed it around the painting subtly so as not to compete with the main elements, and still create visual interest. Also helps move your eye along the "S" shape.

Blocks are glued around all the edges to prevent warping and hold the paper in place till dry. It's ideal when using a lot of wet-on-wet techniques and water in your painting. If you cannot get the blocks, you can also tape your paper down to prevent curling and warping.
