The high-profile Dharmasthala burial case has taken a sensational turn with the discovery of human bones at the sixth excavation point near the Netravati river bathing area. The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which had earlier found no leads despite digging at five locations, has now recovered what appears to be part of a human skeleton—silencing critics who mocked the investigation’s legitimacy.

Authorities used machinery like Hitachi excavators to conduct the dig. Forensic experts have collected the bones, which will be sent for FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) testing as per protocol. A dog squad was also deployed to the site, and operations intensified after the initial discovery.

The excavation is challenged by underground water from the nearby river, prompting officials to use pump sets to clear the area. Officers used salt and plastic covers to carefully preserve the skeletal remains.

SIT has also formally requested data from all police stations in Karnataka regarding missing person cases and rape-murder cases from 1995 to 2015. This data will be reviewed in two segments: 1995–2005 and 2005–2015.

With these developments, the Dharmasthala Files have entered a gripping new phase. What was once ridiculed as empty claims has now become a critical investigation, with tangible evidence finally surfacing.
