Tuesday Teacher Thoughts

#FunFact - I often talk to myself and record videos on my phone that I RARELY upload 🥴. My topics vary, depending on the inspiration. I recorded this video about a month ago. I was virtually tutoring an 8th grader. Somehow, I asked him what imprint did he want to leave on his community & the world. He said to me, “I don’t know. Probably nothin.” I asked him what he did well. He said, “Nothin. I’m not good at nothin.” Once he said that, I went iiiinnnnn! 😂 Also, after he responded, it all clicked!! His lack of enthusiasm for school made sense. He doesn’t even know or BELIEVE that he’s gifted enough to make a difference, whether big or small. If he doesn’t even believe in himself, why the heck would he display any interest or belief in academics?! He’s not an unmotivated student...he just has yet to understand or BELIEVE in his own greatness. (PS - I didn’t intend to upload this when I recorded, so don’t judge the rambles lol)
