Diogenes was an ancient Greek philosopher who lived in the 4th century BCE. He is best known for his unconventional lifestyle and his philosophy of Cynicism. Diogenes was born in Sinope, a Greek colony on the Black Sea coast, and he later traveled to Athens, where he became one of the most prominent figures of his time.

Diogenes rejected the conventions and norms of society, choosing to live a simple and ascetic life. He believed in living in accordance with nature and sought to free himself from material possessions and societal expectations. Diogenes famously lived in a large ceramic jar, known as a "diogenes," and had minimal personal belongings.

He expressed his philosophy through witty and often provocative sayings, challenging social norms and criticizing the hypocrisy and artificiality of human behavior. Diogenes advocated for a life of self-sufficiency, emphasizing the importance of virtue, reason, and living in harmony with nature.

Diogenes is also known for his encounters and interactions with other philosophers, including Plato. He famously criticized Plato by saying, "I see your vanity, and everyone else's, but I do not see a man." Diogenes believed in living a life of authenticity and genuine virtue, rather than pursuing external appearances or wealth.

His teachings and way of life had a significant influence on subsequent philosophers and schools of thought, such as Stoicism. Although many of his writings have been lost over time, fragments of his ideas and anecdotes about his life have been preserved by other ancient writers.

Diogenes' philosophy continues to be studied and admired for its emphasis on simplicity, self-discipline, and the pursuit of truth. He remains an iconic figure in the history of philosophy and a symbol of the rejection of societal conventions in favor of a more authentic and meaningful existence.

When creating these videos, I use the Movavi Video Suite 23 video editing program to create images that I previously edited in Adobe Photoshop, after downloading free images from the public domain in the Google images section.
For a more pleasant viewing of quotes, I add music to the background, which I took from the official YouTube music library. It takes about 8 hours to create these videos for my viewers.
