In the Netherlands we have an opium list, which is a list split in 2 categories containing drugs that are considered dangerous, like cocaine amfetamine MDMA, and drugs that are considered less dangerous like cannabis, mushrooms and sleeping aids.

Every year tens of new substances appear on the market in Europe; substances that actually have stimulating, psychotropic or narcotic effects, but that do not fall under the Dutch opium list, these are called designer drugs.

most designer drugs are alternatives to drugs that are illegal in this country, but with a slightly different variant or added molecule. Which makes it legal. These drugs can be highly addictive and therefore it is important you are well informed.
