In a Howard County courtroom, Dieneba Traore was sentenced to ten years in prison for her involvement in a case that began with a fight. The incident gained attention after her teenage son was beaten and robbed on video last year. Traore had urged police to arrest her son's attackers, but her attorney suggested that seeking police help may have backfired.

"Unfortunately, what she feels she did wrong is go to the police for help. Because going to the police for help put her on their radar," said Defense Attorney Latoya Francis-Williams.
