Описание к видео ENGLISH // Episode 229: NEUROPLASTIC PAIN and other STRANGE symptoms with Howard Schubiner

Welcome to this new episode.
Today, we’re diving into a fascinating, often misunderstood topic — one that’s becoming increasingly important for anyone trying to make sense of chronic pain and unexplained symptoms.

We’re going to talk about the role of the brain and the nervous system in pain, about neuroplastic pain, sometimes called mindbody syndromes, TMS, nociplastic pain, or psychophysiologic disorders.
Behind all these technical words lies a simple but revolutionary idea:

sometimes, pain doesn’t come from an injury in the body, but from a learned response of the nervous system.
It’s a very real pain — but one maintained by a brain stuck in “protection mode,” still trying to keep us safe even when the danger is long gone.

To explore this, I’m thrilled to welcome Dr. Howard Schubiner, an internist, professor, and researcher — one of the world’s leading experts in this field.
Trained by the legendary Dr. John Sarno, he has devoted his career to understanding how the brain can generate pain, fatigue, or strange physical sensations — and, more importantly, how people can recover.

With him, we’ll discuss key questions such as:

How can we distinguish between pain caused by tissue damage and pain “learned” by the brain?

What clinical clues can help us recognize neuroplastic pain?

Why does the brain sometimes continue to produce symptoms even after the body has healed?

And most importantly, how can we break the pain–fear loop and help the nervous system relearn safety?

We’ll also explore other symptoms linked to nervous system dysregulation — chronic fatigue, dizziness, sensitivities, burning sensations, fibromyalgia — and what science now reveals about the role of emotions, stress, and neuroplasticity in all of this.

It’s a deep, fascinating, and hopeful conversation — for anyone who’s ever wondered what their body might be trying to tell them.

Let’s begin… with Howard Schubiner.
