🍗Are you eating too much protein?

Many people believe they need at least 1 gram per pound of their bodyweight in protein to build muscle and lose body fat.

But if we look at the scientific research, this is wrong! Muscle growth is already maximized at a protein intake of 1.6g per kilogram of your bodyweight, that is 0.7g per pound [1].

So a 180-pound individual now no longer needs 180 grams of protein, but only around 130 grams. This makes a big difference in terms of diet sustainability.

If you keep your protein intake more moderate, you have enough space in your nutrition to also incorporate healthy carbohydrate and fat sources. Resulting in higher energy levels in the gym, and you overall enjoy your meals more.

So don’t be overly obsessed with protein!
