With the cerebrates destroyed, the path to the Overmind lies open. The combined forces of the Protoss and their Terran allies under Jim Raynor rally for one final assault to reclaim Aiur. Channeling both pure psionic might of the Khalai and the void power of the Nerazim, Tassadar plunges into the heart of the Overmind itself.
The resulting burst of energy shatters the skies above Aiur. The Overmind is annihilated. And Tassadar pays the ultimate price.
His sacrifice ends the Swarm's hold on Aiur - but the Protoss homeworld lies in ruins, and the war for the Koprulu sector is far from over.
