Depth Of Field Explained (Part 2) - long lenses

Описание к видео Depth Of Field Explained (Part 2) - long lenses

Depth of field is a tricky thing to explain because there are several things that affect it and different focal lengths have different depth of field characteristics. In Part 1 (http://www.photographycourses.biz/dep...) we looked at DOF and how it works in a short (wide) lens. Here in Part 2 we'll try the same exercise with a long lens.

Long lenses have a shallower depth of field than short ones - regardless of which aperture you use. Your aperture is the main control of how much or how little to add to an image, but the total amount available depends on the focal length you're using.

This exercise will explain how it works and how you can control it. Please watch the video and then go out and try it for yourself because by doing it over and over is how you'll learn how to control depth of field to achieve the look you want.
