Acid Analyzer vs Cava

Описание к видео Acid Analyzer vs Cava

I ported my esp32 audio spectrum analyzer to a linux terminal program. The esp32 is fast but my four core laptop from 2015 is 100 times faster.

The algorithm is professional grade. I'm planning on making an Open GL version with it when I have the time and motivation.

In this example I'm comparing my algorithm with the popular Cava spectrum analyzer. It's not professional grade and it doesn't claim to be. But it could be if his algorithm was added to to it. He has done all the hard working porting his program to four operating systems and tens of different protocols. I'm not releasing the source code to my program. I'm hoping to add it to Cava.

About my algorithm:
It's as fast as it can be. I'm using the fastest Fourier transform in the West. It can analyze ten seconds worth of data 60 times per second before my eight year old laptop runs out of juice. That's half a million samples. Although my program can be set that high I've noticed that fast paced music looks the best when I analyze only 8192 samples at a time. With that precision my algorithm only consumes less than one percent of my CPU power. Any computer made in this millennium can run it.
