Whether you're travelling half way around the world, or to the local campsite, we have some strategies on how to travel with wine to maximize your enjoyment where ever you are.
The Caribbean, Central America, some places in northern or eastern European countries, and even rural campsites a few hours from home, lack a good selection of wine – and what you do find can be wildly expensive.
Over the years, we've developed a simple strategy on how to travel with wine, to make sure we always have something great to sip, without spending an arm and a leg to do it.
Today, The Wine Sisters' founder and chief sommelier, Erin Henderson, is on location in Nicaragua where she is staying for most of the month. As Erin tells us, Nicaragua is a beautiful country, with warm and welcoming people, and delicious sugar cane for local rum production (very handy for future cocktail videos). BUT, it is not a serious wine drinking country, so the small selection that can be found, is $20 or $30 more than what we would pay for the same bottle here.
Luckily, Erin observed our rules for how to travel with wine, which has provided her with both bottles she loves, and saved a ton of money.
Whether your next vacation takes you to a different country, or just a different town, watch this video on how to travel with wine so you never go thirsty again.
