The Komodo is not a direct descendant of a dinosaurs. They do, however, share a common ancestor from some 300 million years ago. On Komodo, the dragon is king. It eats any and all of the other large animals on the islands.

Komodo dragons have originated in Australia and have for at least 3.8 million years ago. Now they live in Indonesian islands. They are very active in the morning when it’s not to warm and can swim to the islands below 👇
