Atomic Heart 2 is officially in development at Mundfish and was announced at Summer Game Fest 2025, with a new trailer showcasing its retrofuturistic, alternate-history Soviet setting.

The story will continue the alternate-history, retro-futuristic Soviet setting of the first game, but with a narrative that expands to a global scale. The sequel will include a more expanded and complex role-playing system, offering more player freedom and activities.

The sequel is an action-adventure FPS with enhanced combat and RPG systems, set to be released on PC and consoles. In addition to the sequel, Mundfish also announced a new standalone multiplayer RPG shooter called The Cube, also set in the Atomic Heart universe.

Players can expect an upgraded combat system that allows for the simultaneous use of glove abilities with both melee and ranged weapons. Mundfish is also working on a separate multiplayer spin-off, titled The Cube, which is set in the same Atomic Heart universe.
