A video series explaining how to design a shoot 'em up from the ground up. Even though it focuses on CAVE-style games, most things should be transferable to just about any style.

The goal is to give a rundown of genre conventions, if you want to make something non-conventional then this can be used as a jumping off point, a "know which rules you're breaking and why they're there" type of deal.

Enemy design here we go! As usual some examples are a bit fudged but they should convey the ideas anyway.

I should really get more footage from non CAVE games some time....
