The Tragic Story of Aeneas and Dido in Carthage - The Aeneid - Ep 6

The Aeneid is an epic written by the Roman poet Virgil and is considered one of the greatest literary works ever written. In this episode, Aeneas, the Trojan leader, arrives in Carthage and awakens the passion of Queen Dido with the help of Cupid. Although they share a deep bond, Aeneas receives a divine order to leave Carthage and found a new kingdom in Italy. Dido, feeling betrayed, builds a pyre and ends her life, cursing the Trojans. Aeneas departs, but Dido's tragic end foreshadows future misfortunes on his journey.
