INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup basmati rice
1/2 cup yellow mung dal
6 cups boiling water
2 tsp ghee
1/2 tsp asafoetida powder (Hing Powder)
1 tsp turmeric powder
6 curry leaves
salt to taste
1/4 ajwain seeds optional
2 tsp fresh ginger optional
1 cubed carrot optional
1/2 cup peas optional
1 bay leaf optional
For tempering (Optional)
1 tsp ghee
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 cloves garlic minced
