Zambales Rainy Road Trip No. 14 : OLONGAPO CITY
Our last stop for our Zambales road trip is the Highly Urbanized City of Olongapo.
The City of Olongapo is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines. Located in the province of Zambales but governed independently from the province, it has a population of 260,317 people according to the 2020 census.
As the first chartered city and highly urbanized city in its province, Olongapo's reputation among Filipinos rose from being a "sin city" in the 1960s and 1970s into a "model city" in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.
