Hey all! I am very excited that the series is slowly coming to a close with the limited NPC’s left in the game to do a quest line tutorial on, but nonetheless, am grateful for the fame/attention it has brought me and very grateful for all the comments i have been receiving and people I have helped.

Orbeck resides in the Road of Sacrifices, studying old scrolls in hopes to learn archaic sorceries. He was a scholar from Vinheim, until he was exiled for becoming Undead. He is stumped when you encounter him, for he wants to be left alone to his studies. But when he realises that you are a renegade that could be potentially beneficial to his agenda, he quickly jumps at the opportunity of him acquiring more sorcery scrolls to study and creates a covenant with you.

You ask him to learn sorceries, but he’s services come at a cost. You are to obtain sorcery scrolls in order for him to teach you what is in them. (MAKE SURE TO GIVE HIM AT LEAST 1 SCROLL BEFORE YOU BEAT THE ABYSS WATCHERS BOSS FIGHT, OR HE WILL DISAPPEAR FROM THE GAME, CANCELLING HIS QUEST FOR THIS PLAYTHROUGH).

This is optional, but when he is at Firelink, buy 3 sorceries off him then speak to him to acquire the Young Dragon Ring, if you do not already have it by not starting as a Sorcerer.

After you have given him every single scroll, buy the sorceries off him that you have not purchased already, and he will commend your efforts as an aspiring Mage. Speak with him to acquire the “Silent Ally” gesture, and the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring.

He will leave Firelink for some time, due to his services no longer needed, in this time, you need to kill a boss and make sure that you have already killed the Curse-Rotted Greatwood Tree in order to summon him for the Twin Princes boss fight.

It is optional, but summon him for the Twin Princes boss fight. His summon sign appears just outside the gate of the boss arena, to the right up the small set of stairs on a balcony area.

After you have beaten the Twin Princes, with or without Orbeck, then head to the Grand Archives. Proceed past the last area that the Crystal Sage Twin can warp to, then up the stairs, on a chair sitting at a table, is Orbecks corpse… dying with literature that suited his philosophy. He is also hollow, which also brings a sense of how prevalent his urges were for the pursuit of knowledge, no matter what the risk, even if.. going hollow.
