Private clinic surgeries, temporary LTCs part of Ontario’s health system plan

The Ontario government has laid out a plan to take pressure off its health-care system that involves increasing the number of publicly covered surgeries offered at private clinics, while also moving patients waiting for long-term care beds to temporary homes to create more hospital capacity. But critics say it moves the province toward a two-tiered health-care system.
