Описание к видео Allah Cares About Where You’re Going, Not Where You Were | Mufti Menk

In this deeply uplifting reminder, Mufti Menk explains the heart of Islam: worshipping Allah alone and steadily moving closer to Him — even when we fall.

He begins by reminding us that entering Islam starts with the shahādah: testifying that none is worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad ﷺ is Allah’s Messenger — the one who taught us how Allah wants to be worshipped.

A central message of the talk is hope:

Believers are not perfect. People grow, learn, slip, repent, and improve. Islam does not define you by your past if you sincerely turn back to Allah and make amends. Allah’s mercy can erase sins — even when people continue to judge you for them.

What truly matters is direction:
Are you moving closer to Allah today than yesterday?

Mufti Menk beautifully connects this idea to the five pillars of Islam, showing Allah’s wisdom:
• The shahādah is constant
• Prayer is five times daily
• Fasting is one month a year
• Zakat is yearly for those who qualify
• Hajj is once in a lifetime

This structure highlights a major theme: repetition.

Allah loves repeated acts of worship — prayer, sujood, dhikr, istighfār, and repentance. Repetition strengthens faith, protects the heart, and keeps a believer connected to Allah. Prayer, in particular, is meant to prevent immorality and wrongdoing when practiced sincerely.

The speaker warns against deception and the traps of shayṭān. Slipping does not mean failure — staying down does. Like a runner who trips but gets back up, believers must keep moving forward so shayṭān never “catches up.”

He emphasizes that fighting shayṭān means:
• Cleaning the heart
• Improving worship and character
• Avoiding pride and arrogance
• Taking responsibility instead of blaming others

The talk also calls for unity within the ummah, respectful disagreement, avoiding takfīr and hatred, and maintaining peaceful coexistence without compromising Islamic values.

Mufti Menk closes with hope: persist in duʿā’, repentance, and worship. Make the coming year better through faith, community, and sincerity — and he ends with heartfelt duʿās for those suffering (including Gaza), and for Allah’s protection and guidance for all.
