Take a walk in the park and then indulge in that authentic and pleasant luxury of sit on a bench, to chat with a stranger, to contemplate the view or, simply, to relax, as it once was. And there is a place that, more than any other, has become the symbol of this moment of pause or meeting.
This place is located in Italy, inside the Alfa Romeo Industry Park in the Portello district. There are no suggestive constructions of the vertical forest in the background, nor the Sforzesco Castle. Not even the Navigli can be seen in the distance and yet, this park, has earned Milan a new record.
The garden, in fact, houses the longest bench in the world measuring 208 meters in length. For its realization they have been used 1800 wooden slats, 25000 year e 500 iron legs: such a bench had never been seen before.

The bench in the Portello park

The park bench of the Portello, which due to its size runs along the entire park, she has already become a celebrity. After all, for as long as we can remember, in Italy and perhaps in the world, such a long bench has never been built. And there are already those who are thinking of creating a second one, this time in the Affori district.
Characterized by a curvilinear shape that runs alongside the Alfa Romeo Industrial Park, the bench adapts completely and perfectly to the circumference of the landscape, becoming the best element of urban furniture in the city.

The longest bench in the world, Portello district

It is true, the length has earned the city of Milan a truly unique record, but the attention with which this bench was made makes it a small, great architectural pride for all citizens.
The long sessionin fact, it was made of wood, a conscious choice of a material that does not pollute the surrounding environment and does not corrode over time. A unicum in Italy that makes Milanese citizens proud.
The goal of creating this bench is to encourage citizens to live and populate the green spaces in the city, guaranteeing more and more diversified experiences so that people are stimulated to maintain contact with nature.
