Zangeres Rita Hovink (1944-1979) zingt Het Dorp, beroemd gemaakt door Wim Sonneveld.
Het lied is een bewerking van 'La Montagne' van Jean Ferrat, de Nederlandse tekst is van Friso Wiegersma.

Rita Hovink wordt begeleid door het Metropole Orkest onder leiding van Ruud Bos.

Deze opname is gemaakt op 19 maart 1979, ruim een half jaar voordat Rita Hovink overleed. Wim Sonneveld was toen al vijf jaar overleden.
