HTTP stand for Hypertext transfer protocol and HTTPS stand for Secure Hypertext transfer protocol, HTTP is most wildly used network protocol used now a day. HTTP is used for viewing website. Data transfer in HTTP in clear text. there are a lot of security problems when a user share his personal information on a web site. Data transfer in form of clear text over public internet to web server. So, to overcome this problem HTTPS , Secure Hypertext transfer protocol was introduced, which encrypts data using different encryption algorithms. So if some access data from public network, he can not read data because data is in unmeaning or encrypted form.
SSL Socket Security Layer and TLS Transport Layer Security protocol is also covered with examples in this video.
