PTCAS Application verification is a process that occurs once where PTCAS representatives verify your transcript entry compared to that of your official transcript sent to PTCAS. The process of application verification can take up to 10 days, but in our experience with the applicants we work with is less than a week.

The closer your FIRST program submission is to a deadline, the longer it may take for PTCAS to verify your application. This is because applications are verified in chronological order as they were received. The closer we get to a deadline, the more people submit their applications, the longer the verification process takes. This is why we recommend that you submit your application several weeks to a month before your earliest application deadline if at all possible.

PLEASE READ THIS NEXT SECTION VERY CAREFULLY! The PTCAS application verification process only occurs ONCE, after your first program submission via PTCAS. Once your application is verified and you then submit your application to additional programs, it takes only a few minutes to a few hours for your already verified application to be sent off to additional programs.

Why does this matter? If you have programs that do not have any supplemental essays, and everything else in your application is complete, you should submit to these programs ASAP so that your application will be verified well before your program deadlines! You then can go back and complete supplemental essays for additional programs and submit those essays with a much, much quicker turnaround time since your application has already been verified.

When you do this, PTCAS is pairing your already verified general application with your just submitted program specific application. As always, plan to submit your application early, but this pro tip can give you some peace of mind.
