UPCL ने पूरे राज्य में नए स्मार्ट बिजली मीटर लगाने की प्रक्रिया फिलहाल रोक दी है। यह स्थायी बैन नहीं, बल्कि अस्थायी मोरेटोरियम है।
लगभग 3.30 लाख पहले से लगे स्मार्ट मीटर चालू रहेंगे, लेकिन शिकायतों की जांच पूरी होने तक नए इंस्टॉलेशन बंद रहेंगे इसी बीच कांग्रेस नेता तिलक राज बेहड़ ने इसे जनता की जीत बताया और बीजेपी पर निशाना साधा।
