The Ridgeway National Trail - Water Taps & All

Описание к видео The Ridgeway National Trail - Water Taps & All

This video is of my four day walk and wild camp of The Ridgeway, a 87 mile long National Trail. I went from Overton Hill in the south to Ivinghoe Beacon in the North, wild camping on route. The hardest section I would say was between mile 24 ½ and mile 42 ¾ when there was no source of water and limited opportunities for wild camping. Aside from this section wild camping was not a problem as long as you practice the principles of Leave No Trace, pitch late and leave early.

Water taps information that I found – all mileages are from south to north.

@ 19 miles cross roads at Idstone Hill – Official Water Tap
@24 1/2 miles at the entrance to Hill Barn – Official Water Tap
@42 ¾ miles Goring Village Hall through a gate at the side – Water But
@47 miles Church of ST Mary The Virgin, North Stoke – Water Butt
@51 ¾ miles after Grims Ditch – Water Tap maybe official.
@60 ½ miles Natural England bottom of Beacon Hill – Official Water Tap
@70 ¼ miles The Plough at Cadsden – Water Tap on path outside pub.

Aside from the above I also used cattle troughs Filtering the water with a Befree filter, hope this information is helpful.
