This video shows the progression of tropical cyclones and Accumulated Cyclone Energy in the Atlantic, for the year of 1996 and every six hours.

—Brief Description—
For the second time in a row, the Atlantic Ocean saw activity levels well above normal compared to the preceding years. With a record-breaking 6 "Major" Hurricanes, and an ACE value of 166 with only 13 names storms, 1996 was one of the most energetic seasons at the time.
