Prasar Bharati Archives presents Constitutional Development in Arunachal Pradesh Since 1947

Arunachal Pradesh's constitutional development since 1947 transformed it from British-administered tribal areas to a full state. Initially part of the North-East Frontier Tracts, it became the North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) in 1954, administered by the Ministry of External Affairs.

It gained Union Territory status and was renamed Arunachal Pradesh in 1972, before achieving full Statehood on February 20, 1987, becoming India's 24th state through the 55th Constitutional Amendment Act of 1986.
