Björn Fastabend from Bafin and Dennis Münkle from Reportix joined Data Amplified 2023 to discuss strategies to aid in managing the continuous changes in the scope, scale and frequency of data collection.

Like many other regulators, BaFin is responsible for collecting increasing quantities of information from a large number of regulated companies, across multiple areas of regulatory responsibility. Over time, there is a natural tendency for silos to develop, and as volumes, velocity and variety increase, the pressure on processing infrastructure can multiply. In this talk, Björn Fastabend from BaFin and Dennis Münkle from Reportix introduce the new ELSA platform. ELSA is designed to simplify, harmonise and scale the process of getting high quality data from regulated companies into the analytics systems of the regulator. The goal is to help speed up and lower the costs associated with the implementation of new regulatory mandates, as well as managing changes in existing data collections. ELSA also protects data security and supervisory accountability.
