Pedja D'Boy - I'm a Believer (1967)

Najraniji snimak jednog nastupa Peđe D'Boya zabeležen je u filmu Žike Pavlovića "Kad budem mrtav i beo". U to vreme još uvek pod svojim pravim imenom, Predrag Jovanović je svirao sa sastavom Lutalice. Peđa je rođen 1950. u Kruševcu i u vreme snimanja filma imao je 17 godina, pa je otuda ovde i predstavljen kao "mladi hipik iz Kruševca". Peđa u filmu izvodi hit-pesmu "I'm a Believer" sastava The Monkees, objavljenu prethodne, 1966. godine. U to vreme, mladi jugoslovenski bendovi su strane pesme "skidali" direktno sa radija ili sa teško dostupnih ploča iz inostranstva, tako da je bilo izuzetno teško doći do tačnih tekstova pesama, pa se i na ovom snimku može primetiti da Peđa većinu teksta izgovara netačno ili mrmljajući. Nedugo po snimanju filma, Peđa odlazi u inostranstvo, gde zapaženiji uspeh ima kao pevač nemačke hevi metal grupe Jane. U Beograd se vraća 1982, kada sa Miškom Mihajlovskim osniva grupu D'Boys, sa kojom snima četiri albuma, pri čemu je najveći uspeh ostvarila pesma "Jugoslovenka" sa albuma "Muvanje" iz 1984. godine.

This video from 1967 represents the first known footage of the popular Serbian singer Pedja D'Boy (born in 1950 in Kruševac, real name Predrag Jovanovic, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pe%C4%9..., from one of the most famous Yugoslav films, "Kad budem mrtav i beo" (When I Am Dead and Gone, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0061855/ ). In this film, in the audition scene, 17 year old Pedja covers I'm a Believer by The Monkees, that was recorded a year earlier. At the time, it wasn't easy for the young bands in Yugoslavia to find the lyrics and chords of the popular songs, so it can be heard that Pedja mostly mumbles the words. Pedja D'Boy didn't become popular until much later, in the 1980s, when he became the lead singer of the disco-oriented band D'Boys ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%27_Boys ).
