Mens single sculls final. Crosswind from the camera side makes water quite difficult in 3rd 500m (especially in a single).

Steve Redgrave was aiming for 3 medals and this was his first event, he was also racing in the 2- and 4+. Apart from this event, the summer was spent in the 2+ with Andy Holmes aiming to win the 1986 World Championships (held in Nottingham)
