MIKE
Hi Everyone! I'm Mike, and this is my friend Jeff, but you probably know us as The Interview Guys! Hey, uh
Jeff? What are you doing?

JEFF (on the phone)
Yes. I was with the Company for three years. Sorry can you on hold on for a second? Oh hey Mike. I'm just
in the middle of a phone interview.

MIKE
Uh, Jeff...don't you think you should be doing it somewhere where you have a little more privacy? And is the
wine really necessary? Hey, are they still on the line? Oh man.

JEFF
It's fine...they don't know I'm drinking and I pressed the mute button. Anyway let me finish. Hi it's Jeff. Hello?
Hello?

MIKE
Forget to press the mute button, didn't you?

JEFF
Ummm...oops.

MIKE
Well folks, as you can see, Jeff really didn't execute that phone interview properly. And from what we hear,
he's not the only one who needs to brush up on his phone interview skills.

JEFF
That's right Mike, we've been getting a lot of people asking us about phone interviews, so today in this video we are going to
give you our Top 5 tips to remember when doing a phone interview.

MIKE
The first thing to remember is to be prepared! Before the interview, you should definitely do some research on
the company you are interviewing with, and take good notes. Their website is a great place to start! You want to get a good idea of who they are and what they do!
And It's always a good idea to know who their competitors are too. Also, make sure that you've
studied the job description.

JEFF
Number 2 on the list is pick a quiet place where you won't be interrupted. You don't want to be interrupted by your
pets, kids, coworkers or other calls coming in! It will make you look unprofessional and won't help with your concentration
either.

MIKE
Third on our list is to keep your research notes from Tip #1 in front of you during the interview. This will help you remember to bring
up any information that you wanted to cover, but more importantly, could help you answer the tougher questions.

JEFF
Our fourth phone interview tip is to pay attention to the tone of your voice. Always try to sound interested and engaged, because you
won't have the benefit of body language to help you convey your message.

MIKE
Number 5 on the list is to make sure you prepare some questions to ask. This is a great way to learn more about the role and the company,
including what the culture is like! But stay away from asking questions about salary, benefits and hours. While these things are important,
you'll be able to speak about them in another phase of the interview process. The phone interview is meant to see if you are a good match
for the company, so it's not necessary to get into too many details (unless they bring it up, of course)

JEFF
Okay, so if you remember to practice your three tips you'll be well on your way to acing your phone interview.
But of course, this is only half the battle.

MIKE
That's right Jeff. You're also going to need to know how to answer the specific questions that are asked.
But don't worry, because the Interview Guys have got you covered!

JEFF
We've written a special report that will that will show you exactly how to craft perfect interview answers to any interview question.
