Over a Hundred Years ago in 1912 the HMS Titanic was destined to end its maiden journey at New York City’s Pier 54 by the current site of Chelsea Piers and The High Line. This represented a major cultural and historic moment for NYC during its growth and ascent to becoming an economic/world capital.

I give a tour of the area then and now as well as explain New York’s key role with the Titanic and how it has played a major commercial, logistical and cultural role in the US and entire world. It is amazing to see how the posh zone of The High Line and West Village was once a blue-collar industrial zone and has now become an arts and white-collar district.
