Crocodile Dundee is a 1986 Australian-American comedy-adventure film directed by Peter Faiman. The story follows the adventure of Mick Dundee, a bushman and crocodile hunter from the Australian Outback who travels to New York City with a journalist, Sue Charlton, to investigate a story about a man-eating crocodile. Mick, who is completely unfamiliar with modern civilization, finds himself in a series of comical situations as he tries to adapt to life in the big city.

As the story progresses, Mick and Sue's investigation leads them to the heart of the city, where Mick's survival skills come in handy as he confronts a group of thugs who threaten Sue's safety. Mick's charming, down-to-earth personality and unique perspectives on life win over the hearts of many New Yorkers, including Sue, and he becomes a beloved celebrity.

The film was a huge commercial success and became a cultural phenomenon, popularizing the image of the rugged, outback Aussie and propelling actor Paul Hogan, who played Mick Dundee, to international stardom.
