Описание к видео Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding

Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU) is a cultural centre located in Al Fahidi, where the first settlements of Dubai were built. The heritage area was built along Dubai’s creek, and it is especially known for the famous wind towers, the narrow winding roads cut off to traffic, the carved wooden doors, and houses built in the old style. In Dubai, the history of the import of wood can be traced back to the trading with pearls in the early 20th century, since then wood had become the important material, which was applied to the traditional buildings as the houses in Al Fahidi.
