Recorded by Ábel Esbenshade
In an effort to explore all of my options in music, I organized an ad hoc orchestra concert to practice my conducting in front of a live group. With the guidance of my mentor Ian Passmore, I was able to prepare the Leonore Overture No. 3 by Beethoven, Letter from Home by Copland, and the Romeo and Juliet Fantasy-Overture by Tchaikovsky. After only two rehearsals of 2.5 hours each, this group of excellent musicians at the Jacobs School of Music provided me with an excellent opportunity to improve my skills.
