In this video, we are going to have some fun improvising or creating chord accompaniment patterns on 2 commonly used chords of D and A Major. Pianists need to be versatile in playing repertoire and also playing from lead sheets or chord charts. An ability to read and improvise on chords is necessary when playing popular pieces, for church, within the jazz ensemble, for musical theater, and in a band, to name a few. Chord improvisation is truly an enjoyable, creative experience that can start as a beginner! I will coach this video for complete beginners to lead sheets.
