Political Parties Under RTI Act? - News & Views | UPSC | NEXT IAS

The Supreme Court agreed to hold a detailed hearing on a bunch of petitions seeking to bring political parties under the ambit of Right to Information (RTI) Act . A political party is a group of people who come together to contest elections and hold power in the government. They agree on some policies and programmes for society with a view to promote the collective good. Election commission of India (EC) has categorised three kinds of political parties in the country: National, State/Regional and Registered/unrecognised Parties.
