Khushbu Sundar, also known as Khushbu/Khushboo, has made a significant impact in the South Indian film industry. She has acted in over 200 movies, predominantly in Tamil language films, along with a few Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. Her versatile career spans over 40 years, during which she has garnered several prestigious awards, including the Kalaimamani award.

Born as Nakhat Khan on September 29, 1970, in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, Khushbu was introduced to the world of cinema at a young age. Her parents gave her the stage name Khushbu when she began her career as a child actress. She has been residing in Chennai for nearly four decades now.

Khushbu’s journey started as a child artist in the Hindi film “The Burning Train” (1980), where she appeared in the song “Teri Hai Zameen Tera Aasman.” She continued to perform as a child actor in various Hindi films, including “Naseeb,” “Laawaris,” “Kaalia,” “Dard Ka Rishta,” and “Bemisal” between 1980 and 1985. Her sensitive performance in the emotional 1982 Hindi movie “Dard Ka Rishta” was highly appreciated by audiences. The fairy song “Main Pariyon Ki Shehzaadi” from the same movie remains popular at annual school performances and children’s parties in India.

As an adult, Khushbu made her debut in the acclaimed 1985 Hindi film “Meri Jung,” playing a supporting role as Anil Kapoor’s younger sister. She also took on lead roles in films like “Jaanoo” and “Tan-Badan” (1986). However, it was her entry into South Indian cinema through the Telugu film “Kaliyuga Pandavulu” (1986) that truly marked her presence in the industry.
