A windy day packrafting on the River Waveney. | Cooking up Kolbulle.

Spring is certainly in the air but I feel it will be knocked back in a week or so by some cold wintery weather.

Join Shannon and me as we walk from Bungay to Earsham and put in just below the Earsham sluice for a days packrafting.

Paddling the MRS Microraft and the MRS Nomad S1D we attempt the west side of Bungay which, in the summer can be like trying to packraft across a muddy field due to the blow downs and weed.

Just as we pass under the bridge for the A 143 this is known as the Bungay Loop which is a very popular route.

Plenty of tight squeezes and blowdowns but the MRS packrafts hold there own and endure the battering they are given.

Kolbulle is a typical outdoor meal eaten in Sweden originating from the Loggers, charcoal burners and trappers that would spend months in the forests.

Ingedients for Kolbulle:
1 cup plain of plain flour
1 x pinch of salt
Lard
Bacon Lardons
Lingonberry Preserve (or cranberry)

Method:
Add water, salt into flour and mix to a pancake consistency.
Heat of the Lard (or oil) in the pan and add bacon and cook until crispy.
Remove half the bacon and spread out the bacon in the pan and add the flour mix.

Add some more bacon into the batter, cook until bubbles (holes) appear then flip and serve with lingonberry sauce.
