Dark Night of The Soul | Loreena McKennitt | ARPA OSCURA

Loreena McKennitt's music draws influences from far in time and wide in geography, as evidenced by the words of this song, adapted from the poem "La noche oscura del alma", written in the 16th century by Spanish priest and mystic St. John of The Cross. Originally about a mystical spiritual experience, McKennitt transforms the words into a more earthly domain of romantic love. For our video, we ventured underground, in the medieval cellars of an archaeological museum, and into the nightly woods, illuminated only by the torch of our protagonist Ari.
