Leicester-born Julie Etchingham will be a familiar face to just about anyone who has tuned in to the news at any point over the last 10 years.

She is currently the co-presenter of ITV News at Ten and presenter of Tonight, having replaced veteran broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald.

She got her first journalism break at BBC Radio Leicester while still at school at English Martyrs Catholic School in the city. After completing her degree in English at the University of Cambridge, she gained a job at BBC Midlands before moving to the BBC's Breakfast News and Newsround. She later worked at Sky News and Five News before moving to ITV.
