Ever since Valve began running Next Fests, I've been downloading between 30-70 games each fest, trying them all out. It might sound like a lot, but for most of the demos, I play for less than 5 minutes before uninstalling. Of all the fests over the years, I'd say VOIN is the best demo I've played.

Too lazy to write a lot here about it, but it's, like, Skyrim except the combat is on steroids and megafun. Actually, the combat is kinda more similar to dark messiah of might and magic in terms of how it feels. There's a fair amount of looting and equipment managing and stuff, I'm not a big loot fan but I enjoyed it, some items I found felt pretty cool and unique. The environments and VFX are absolutely beautiful, I was stunned the first time I saw them. I love the pixelization and other effects. So much of the world is super intriguing (like the giant bells in the hub's molten cathedral). Exploring it feels like exploring Skyrim for the first time, except with more dark souls 1 "primordial"-style intriguing areas.

This isn't the full demo, I already played for awhile before the video starts. But I had to put the demo down to make time for doing other next fest demos, luckily the game's demo outlasted the next fest, and I was able to come back today and finish it (and get even more hyped for it). Also on my first run I accidentally maxed the difficulty (enemy health) and was like "damn the tutorial was really going easy on me, nothing in the actual game dies". Luckily it seems the demo was updated and the dev added an indicator telling you what the difficulty bar does lol, since when I played I don't think it had a tooltip, so nobody else should have that issue going forward.
